1994 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ75 Troopy For Sale.

SOLD | OVERLAND THE AMERICAS | SCOTTSDALE, AZ

It’s easily one of the prettiest Troopys we’ve seen in a while, but this thing will still rip. For sale by Overland the Americas at a $70,000 asking price is this bright yellow 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ75 Troopy. Not inexpensive to be sure, but wait until you read about what’s gone into this build. It’s an incredible rig that features, among other things, a rebuilt 4.5L 1FZ I6 motor, a ton of Old Man Emu suspension work, a refurbished interior with extensive sound deadening, KMC wheels and fresh off-road tires, and ARB bumpers.

And don’t forget about that glorious shade of yellow.

The Perfect Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ75 Troopy: It’s For Sale.

The legendary 40-series Land Cruiser usually gets all the glory, but don’t sleep on its successor, the 70-series. In production continuously since 1984 and still to this day, the 70-series was extremely flexible, with the ability to spec this rig 100 different ways spanning two model groups, five wheelbase lengths, and countless body variations. The FZJ75 and HZJ75 (diesel variant), affectionately referred to as the Land Cruiser Troopy, offers more than six and a half feet of bed length behind the front seats, meaning it could carry tons of cargo and up to 13 passengers, or both–after all, it’s got an equally sizable roof. Because of this incredible functionality, the Land Cruiser Troopy, or Troop Carrier, became the go-to vehicle for hazardous expeditions and memory-making adventure tourism trips

This particular Troopy was built in Japan back in 1994, and was believed to be delivered under government contract for Corpoelec, a Venezuelan electric company, which historically ordered all their vehicles in this characteristic deep golden yellow color. It was purchased by the seller in 2019 and during their care was expertly maintained and upgraded, including a recently rebuilt motor which was also converted to fuel injection. It was also given a mild body off frame restoration, repainted in its original yellow color, and given a suspension overhaul. It’s a masterful build that’s both capable and, frankly, gorgeous. LOOK AT IT.

The Details.

This Japanese import is 28 years old, but you’d think it was nearly fresh off the factory line. It’s been not only nicely modified, but also nicely maintained throughout its tour of duty. That includes a significant overhaul of its 1FZ motor about 5,000 miles ago. This FZJ75 comes complete with service records since importation, importation documents, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
