1973 Ford F250 Custom Highboy – While the overall chassis and cab structure dated to 1961, the 1973 Ford pickups were heavily reworked with an all-new look for 1973, resulting in the sixth generation of the ever popular F-Series. One of the more notable elements of the new styling was the body sides, which had a concave body character line going across the upper portion of the sides, containing the side marker lights and the front turn signals fitted in line with it. These were mounted for the first time in Ford light truck history over the headlights. Another element that was all new was the Styleside pickup box, which was billed at the time as the widest in the industry. The Flareside box that dated back to 1953 also continued to be available as an option.

We admit that we normally end up with more classic GM truck in inventory than anything. But, when a Ford does make an appearance, it’s always a great one. Our newest addition is head-turning, 2 tone F250 that is nice enough for weekend shows but not so pretty that you are scared to put her to work. The iconic Limestone Green and Wimbledon White two-tone scheme is the first thing that catches your attention and the stance of these classic 4×4 Fords is really hard to beat. There were only 34 F250s built with these paint/trim codes in 1973 so your chances of finding a twin are slim. Details on the restoration were not available when we received the truck but it was a one owner truck from 1973 until mid-2024. While we have noted a few small items that need attention, but they aren’t anything that would prevent this Highboy from hitting the road on day one.
