The Chevrolet Suburban is a series of automobiles built by General Motors starting way back in the 1935 model year, making it the longest continuously used automobile nameplate in production. It has traditionally been one of General Motors' most profitable vehicles, which is a great way to ensure that the Suburban will continue to live on for many more generations; however, sales are declining, with total 2020 U.S. sales only representing 20% of the sales 20 years earlier.

The Suburban of today is a full-size SUV with three rows of seating, a full pickup truck frame, and a powerful V8 engine. It is one of the few station wagons available with all bench rows. The Suburban is the same height and width as the smaller-but-still-large Chevrolet Tahoe, although the Suburban is nearly 2 feet longer. The extra length provides a full-sized cargo area behind the 9 (NINE!) passenger seating area.

This particular model is the eighth generation of 12 total generations. The base engine for all variants was the small-block 5.7 liter (350 cubic inch) V8. The big-block 7.4 L (454 cubic inch) V8 was optional for the 2500 series, an option this vehicle has, courtesy of a Jasper replacement. The optional 6.5 L Turbo diesel was available on all models, although rare on the 1500 series.
