Original owner – bought new in 1998. This is the 4.0L 6 cyl with 5 speed. Has factory A/C that works well.

When nth degree mobility first appeared, I made some calls and got the 3rd kit to be installed. The designer, and former Jeep engineer, Jim Frens, came out to Xtreme Rubicons in Arroyo Grand and helped with the install. Xtreme Rubicons is gone, but they built a few Jeeps using the nth degree system so Jim thought it was a good investment to use my Jeep as a teaching opportunity. The kit included the progressive rate springs that were only available for a short time. It also included lightning Rod quick disconnects that work even when not on a level surface, although I have to admit they are a bit worn, now.

The front suspension features the ORO u-turn cross over steering set up. You may notice in the pics there is no steering damper (shock) up front. It doesn’t need it. There is no death wobble. This Jeep will run 80mph down the highway with no wobble. There is almost zero body roll when making even sharp turns. This suspension just flat out works!

The nth degree tummy tucker was installed without a body lift, making the fit a bit tight, and stuffing the trans tight up against the floorboard which made the floor a bit hot. I installed Koolmat, a race car firewall insulation, under the carpet to eliminate the excess heat, and dampen a bit of the road noise.

Brad Kilby is a friend of mine, so naturally, I have the Kilby engine driven on-board air. For those not familiar, this is a second A/C compressor mounted on the passenger side of the engine that provides significant air pressure for inflating tires, and driving the ARB solonoids to activate the lockers. There are air chucks on both bumpers at opposite corners of the Jeep. There is a small air tank under the Jeep mounted alonside the drive shaft. There is a pressure guage on the dash so you know when you have the 90-95 psi to engage the lockers.

When I moved to Colorado, I decided the Jeep needed heated seats, so I installed inserts into both front seats. The off/low/high switches are on the dash – either side of the radio.

Speaking of radios, the Jeep comes with a Sirius Roadie radio that has a lifetime subscription. No, you cannot transfer the subscription to another radio, but the subscription will last for the life of the radio.

Although I have removed the back seat and add-a-truck, I still have them so you can revert, and take the kids or dog on the trail.

So, what’s wrong with this Jeep, or why am I selling? Second question first. I am selling because we have not been on a trail for a couple of years and this Jeep needs to be used. What’s wrong with it? I have only 2 issues. First, the speedo output from the trnasfer case is whacked – it make the speedo bounce. The xfer case is a JB super short, heavy duty (wide chain) and I recall that JB admitted to the flawed output sensor, but I been too lazy to replace it. The other issue I have is that the spare tire mount rattles. It needs another Jam Screw to hold it in place. A drill and tap would likely fix this.
