Our passion for classic Toyota Land Cruisers takes us around the globe. We sourced this vehicle from Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe, France, only a two-hour drive from the Mediterranean sea. Choosing vehicles from this arid climate minimizes rust, which we love to see in a vehicle of this age. The HJ61 is also one of our favorite models of land cruisers (it’s so hard to pick!) because of the engine, the power, and the look. Driving in this Land Cruiser allows you to feel the road, or the dirt, underneath your wheels as you conquer the landscape.

This European spec, left-hand drive, 5-speed manual punches above its weight. Boasting the renown 12H-T turbo diesel engine, which was used in Toyota’s commercial applications due to its reliability and powerful torque, this HJ61 is powerful and ready to rumble. The eye-catching red and orange graphics on the exterior make a statement worth watching.

The interior is a stripped-down experience, designed to maximize the driving experience. The center console offers storage, and the cloth upholstered seats can take five on any adventure. With an adjustable steering wheel, power window, power locks, and an interior dome light, driving this vehicle feels like driving the nineties. The radio has been removed from the dashboard, which means you get to pick the system that works best for you. Perhaps one of the most iconic features of this Toyota is the split liftgate allows easy access into the carpeted trunk. The rear bench seat also folds back, allowing the trunk to extend for even more storage. Tailgating or car-camping under the stars has never been easier!
