1985 Land Rover Series III 109”
This is my family’s third Land rover, and by far the nicest. It saw a refurbishment overseas before being brought to the United States under previous ownership. We have enjoyed the vehicle and have done our best to sort things as they popped up while also getting in front of general maintenance. Now it’s time to find a new home. It’s a good candidate for driving and maintaining as is or pursuing a more thorough restoration. Details as follows:

Five door Station Wagon. Right hand drive.
Features and desirable components:
2.5 NA Diesel Motor
Original (I assume) LT76 transmission
Fairey Overdrive (incredibly quiet)
Salisbury rear end
Tropical top with alpine windows
Work performed/new parts added in my ownership (last 3.5 years and under 500 miles):
Injection pump and injectors are all freshly rebuilt by Blue Ridge Diesel in Salem, VA
Fuel tank was drained and fresh fuel was added with additive and new fuel filter
Radiator, timing belt, and water pump. Drums and shoes are new
New wheel cylinders all around
New clutch hydraulics
New exhaust
New fuel lift pump
Valve cover gasket
Tuned up within 250 miles.
New battery, cables, and disconnect
Recent ignition switch and wiper stalk
Lots of new switches and wiring
Discrete kill switch part for theft and always be able to turn off diesel motor
New starter solenoid
New window tracks where needed
New light covers where needed
Roof Rack and ladder
LR Mudflaps
Second spare tire mount on rear doorknob
Known flaws:
Slow drip from around fuel pump
Some corrosion in passenger side footwell
Some electrolysis at bottoms of doors
Typical imperfections associated with age
Odometer, speedometer, and fuel gauge do not currently function
Typical drips associated with a Series Land Rover
Passenger side front turn signal currently not working
Chassis is in good original condition to my knowledge but one of the front chassis legs will need addressing at some point
