This 2003 Land Rover Discovery II HSE, AKA the “Disco” is one hell of an off-road beast. This example is finished in Land Rover white gold, over a black interior making for a lovely combination. Not only is this truck such a looker, but what’s under the hood is also even more impressive. Power comes from a 5.3-liter LS Vortec engine with only 4k miles since a full rebuild. This 2003 Disco is a well outfitted example and is a true one-of-a-kind beast, ready to tackle any obstacle. The Discovery Series is becoming increasingly desirable among car enthusiasts and 4×4 lovers for its unbeatable off-road capabilities, boxy style, and its old school Land Rover charm. This Disco is one beefy brute, with its old school solid axles, locking center differential and LS power, plus a whole host more of adventure goodies. Its quintessential boxy design looks purposeful, rugged, and ready for adventure. Carrying the iconic silhouette that Land Rover enthusiasts adore, this Discovery II is a real head-turner.

The punchy 5.3-liter LS V8 engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic and a 2-speed transfer case which delivers power to all four wheels. The 5.3 V8 was fully rebuilt 4,000 miles ago, the complete rebuild included all new rings, bearings, cam bearings, BTR “Truck Norris” cam and springs, LS7 lifters, Chromoly pushrods, CTSV oil pump, along with a new thermostat and water pump. A truck-specific sheet metal intake and 98mm throttle body were also added along with Summit cast-iron headers. The LS engine was installed using the ACE Land Rover LS conversion kit. A BP automotive was installed for the wiring harness and the ECU. A factory radiator with a pair of electric fans and a shroud were installed to aid proper cooling. A custom 2into1 3” exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler and extra resonator were installed and the exhaust runs out the driver’s side behind the rear tire. The 5.3 LS is set up to deliver 425 horsepower. It also has the added option with an Ashcroft center differential lock transfer case (CDL) installed. The interior features a 10” touchscreen, wireless, CarPlay, backup camera, stereo with all new speakers, new rear door subs and a powered sub-woofer under the passenger seat. A RedArc 7-pin brake controller is installed if you need the convivence to tow anything. Both sunroofs were removed, and the drains replaced with 3D printed units and resealed. It rides on Terrafirma 3” lifted suspension along with an adjustable track bar and Bilstien steering damper. It sits on Mayhem Voyager 8303 17” Bronze rims wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler 275/70/17 tries to complete the finishing touch. Rear sway mounts were replaced as well as both front and the left rear wheel bearings. LOF clutches provided an extreme brake kit with 330mm Brembo 4-piston fronts and slotted and drilled rears with new stainless lines and performance brake pads. It has a 9k front winch installed with heavy duty Terrafirma bumpers. A Baja roof rack was installed along with 4 LED front spotlights and 2 LED rear spotlights. It also has Rocky Road Outfitters rock sliders/steps for some extra side protection. A sealed snorkel was installed and dramatically dropped intake air temps. Vents were also added to the hood to help keep it cool. Exhaust is wrapped from the headers to the muffler. The frame is rust free and Eastwood inner frame sealer/converter was used to treat the inside of the frame rails for extra protection. The shuttle valves for the ABS were also replaced as well as the Option B mod. The alternator was replaced, and the leaky Rover power steering pump was converted to a C5 Vette pump. The A/C blows cold, and all HVAC functions work correctly, and a brand-new heater core has been installed.

Besides its rugged capability, inside the Discovery II you’ll find a spacious cabin designed with comfort and functionality in mind, making it practical for daily commutes or weekend getaways. Its charm is undeniable, and its LS engine performance is unmatched. It’s not just a vehicle; it’s a legacy on wheels. Overall, this is one adventure ready Discovery II, with all the upgrades you will ever need and more! Ready to hit the trails or streets. Its timeless design means you’ll stand out, whether you’re in the heart of the city, hitting those trails or in the swamp lands. So, even if you’re not trail-blazing every day, its vintage charm ensures you drive with style every day.
