This Jeep started my classic 4x4 collection 11 years ago, it was the classic CJ-7 look and orange that got my attention that day. Multitudes of vehicles have come and gone over the years, but this is the one I've owned the longest. It's the only classic I can say has always treated me well, started on the first turn and never left me stranded. Other trucks preoccupy my time these days and it's not getting the enjoyment it deserves. So it's time to pass it down the line to the next caretaker to appreciate and make memories.
- CarlsDad
- Produced under the AMC Jeep era, the CJ-7 model debuted in 1975 and ran through 1986.
- This low original-mileage, restored and lightly modified example offers the factory original AMC 258 ci. inline 6 engine, sending power to a Borg Warner SR4 4-speed manual transmission mated to a dual-range Dana 300 transfer case sitting on a Dana 30 front axle and AMC 20 rear axle.
- Believed to only have had three owners in the past 42 years, this rig underwent a comprehensive, highly-documented restoration and refurbishment completed by the second owner starting in 2005. The original steel tub was completely refinished and painted in Omaha Orange with multi-stage paint on the exterior, and black rust-inhibiting coating was applied to the inside and underside of the tub, frame, and engine bay. The seats were custom-upholstered with black Cordura inserts, complemented by orange vinyl piping and black vinyl sides. The windshield, all body rubber, and fender flares were replaced and it was fitted with a tan Bestop soft top.
- It’s upfitted with a 4 in. suspension lift, 33 x 12.5 in. Hankook Dynamic Mud Terrain tires, 15 x 8 in. Mickey Thompson wheels, LED headlights, Rough Country LED underbody rock lights, custom Clarion marine stereo with Bluetooth, front bumper-mounted HiLift jack, black powder coated swing-out tire carrier bumper with 2 in. receiver, tow hooks, security center console, dash pad, and wheel spacers.
- Regular annual maintenance has included powertrain fluid and filter changes and tire rotations under current ownership. Current owner has replaced wheel bearings, radiator, hoses, power steering pump, brake lines, proportioning valve, brakes, belts, spark plugs, wipers, and added a new Optima battery with new terminals. Additionally the suspension lift was refurbished with the addition of new Rough Country N2 shocks and steering stabilizer, professionally refurbished leaf springs, new u-bolts, and an alignment.
- The seller has impeccably maintained and added modern amenities during their 11-year ownership, adding only 7,431 miles and stored in a private, dry, clean indoor facility. Sold with a clean and clear New Jersey title in the current owner’s name. The sale includes a tan Bestop soft top and doors and frame, black vinyl bikini top, full cover, two keys, and restoration documentation.
