During WWII, the Willys Jeep played a powerful role in increasing the efficiency and mobility of the US Army, adopting distinctive features, some recognizable even today. The famous Jeep grill is easily the most recognizable and iconic front fascia known around the world. Willys vehicles were very useful in the war, providing the military with reliable off-road capable, simple vehicles. The Jeep put out a respectable 60hp with 105 ft lbs of torque, as well as a blackout light system, a gasoline can bracket on the left rear, folding soft top, and the ability to position the windshield forward or laying it down on the hood completely.

The 1947 Jeep CJ2A on offer was restored at some point to resemble a WWII Army variant painted in Olive Drab with the correct military oil cloth seating and soft top. There are lots of genuine army collectables that come with it, including ammo cans, carry bags, first aid kit, air pump, tool kit, and misc army gear. A shovel and axe are fitted to the passenger side as well as a rear mounted jerry can. Below the windscreen there is a rifle mount tray with a non-firing replica of the famous M1 Carbine rifle. New Firestone Military spec tires have been fitted along with new shocks, and a new complete exhaust system. The electrical system was converted to 12-volt with a new alternator, ignition switch, and battery. All fluids were replaced and new hoses and belts have been installed. The L4-134 “Go Devil” engine was said to have been rebuilt prior to our acquisition, it retains the correct Carter carburetor. The motor starts easily, idles smoothly, and runs great. The 3-Speed transmission shifts easily in all gears and the clutch feels strong. The transfer case operates as designed in both Hi and Low range. All lighting works; headlamps, brake/tail, interior panel, and blackout units, no turn signals are fitted currently. The gauges all function and are correct looking reproductions, overall this is a very sound Jeep that has a wonderful vintage patina throughout. The body looks to be original and has been repaired in places, it has the look of an authentic military Jeep that was used in the war. The smell of the oiled canvas will bring back memories to all who had seat time in one of these while in the service. This Jeep always draws a crowd at car shows and parades and is ready to serve all your classic 4×4 needs!
