1956 GMC Blue Chip 370 Pickup

A blend of classic up front and modern in the back, this GMC Blue Chip 370 Pickup mixes the original cab-over-engine with a modern stepside cargo bed from a donor GMT-400.
Finished in an eye-popping orange with custom pinstriping, the paint and trim are in overall excellent order, and the bodywork is straight and solid. The entire front clip tilts forward with running boards or one can simply open the hood. The engine bay is tidy and the enhanced cargo bed looks great. The chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body.
This truck rolls on Michelin LTX A/T light truck tires, size 255/70R17 at all every corner. Each one is mounted to an Ultra Motorsports wheel. The wheels and tires are all in very good order.
Prior to making its own engines, GMC trucks borrowed engines from the main car divisions, usually Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick. Here, it looks like a Pontiac V-8 was installed in place of the truck’s original GMC six-cylinder motor. Driver convenience features include power steering and power brakes, with discs up front and a custom air-ride chassis.
Inside, the truck has a black cloth bench seat that looks great. There’s a translucent headliner above the seat, orange metal dashboard with white trim and matching inner door panels. Wipers are inop. All of them are in excellent shape. A three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, or a “rimblow” type, faces the driver. There are Auto Meter gauges in the dash and a floor-mounted shifter.
