This 1972 K5 Blazer 4×4 is powered from the factory with a 350 cubic inch V-8, backed by a Column shift Automatic. The 4×4 is fortified with factory optional Locking Front Hubs. It is finished in the original coat of Medium Green with White removable top. Full wheel covers with white walls complete the factory-original appearance. Standard Black vinyl interior is spartan, adding only the optional rear seat. Power Steering, AM Push Button Radio, and Auxiliary Gauges are the only options checked off on the order pad.

Built new in Flint, MI for sale in California, this 4×4’s first owner was a mining company and then in 1974 it was sold to its first private owner who used it for gold prospecting around the Harrison, Montana and northern Idaho area. The Blazer stayed in the family until about 2009 and lived for a time just outside Seattle, WA before coming down here to Tyler, Texas.

You will notice two things about this Blazer, dual Auxiliary Fuel Doors, driver and passenger side which used to feed extra saddle tanks to extend this off-roader’s range and no A/C. The auxiliary fuel tanks have since been removed. You can reinstall saddle tanks or rocker boxes, for a nominal cost, your choice. The sheet metal underneath is in excellent condition. We would recommend keeping the removable top installed prior to the rocker box reinstallation. As it sits, the removable portion of the roof fits tight and right. Door gaps, cowl, hood, fenders, and rockers are all even. Both doors open and close easily with a crisp “click”.

The suspension and chassis were ordered from the factory for serious back country duty- Heavy Front Springs, Heavy Duty Front and Rear Shocks, Front Wheel Lock Hubs, Skid Plates and 3.73:1 Rear Axle Ratio.

The seat covers and interior door panels are in very good condition. The carpet is sun-bleached, but free of rips or tears. The only aftermarket modification evident is the “Travel Scoop” air vent installed in the removable top and the CB Radio hung below the dash and Antenna mounted on the passenger side front fender. Be prepared for the long-haul off-roading, “2-80 Air”, and 10-4 on the citizen’s band.

Under the hood, you will notice the chrome Edelbrock open element air cleaner which sits on an aftermarket carburetor. The original air cleaner assembly and carb have been set aside and are included in the sale. The tires still have good meat on them; are date coded 48th week of 2016 and 4th week of 2017.

Built new in Flint, MI for sale in California, this 4×4 lived most of its life in a dry climate and it shows. The body is solid and as rust free as a 98,000-mile truck can be. It has been well used and well maintained. If you are looking for a “show truck” or a mall crawler to impress the Gasoline and Caffeine crowd, then this isn’t the truck for you. If you want an honest, original K5 Blazer to go and do Blazer things- then drive it as it is, keep it stock, modify it, or restore it. In any case, make it yours.
