What is a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45?
The Toyota J4 Series Land Cruisers were a traditional body on frame utility vehicle manufactured from 1960 to 1984. Available throughout the years in several different configurations, wheelbases and engines. They were available in short (J40), medium (J43) and long (J45) wheelbase versions, with gasoline and diesel engines. The J45 was a long-wheelbase version available in two-door hardtop, three-door hardtop, four-door station wagon and two-door pickup models.
This F45 began its life in Colombia where it underwent a comprehensive restoration, was acquired by its current owner and imported into the United States in 2023.
Features & Specifications
The exterior presents itself as pristine. The body and frame were impeccably refinished and painted with the addition of new body hardware and rubber seals during restoration. The body, bed and removable hardtop were refinished and painted in the original color, 464 Beige, as indicated on the original identification plate. The paint shows beautifully with depth and shine. The frame and axles and underbody suspension, steering and braking components were refinished and painted matte black. The glass is free of any cracks or chips and the seals were replaced. The exterior lighting is functional and the lenses are free of any cracks. New LED front mounted fog lights aid in night and poor weather visibility.
The interior also presents itself as pristine. The seats and door cards were reupholstered in cognac brown vinyl with matching floor covering during restoration. Air conditioning and a Pioneer stereo were added for additional comfort and convenience. Most of the interior trim pieces were replaced or refinished and repainted matte black.
Almost every mechanical component was rebuilt or replaced during restoration, including the powertrain which was fully rebuilt, resealed, refinished and repainted. It is powered by the iconic Toyota gas engine sends power to the wheels through a Toyota H41 4-speed manual transmission mated to part time dual range Toyota transfer case with K052 3.70 gear ratio front and rear axles with front locking hubs. All as indicated on the original identification plate.
The classic 16 inch steel wheels are wrapped in new 285/75/R16 Mickey Thompson Baja Legend MTX tires, including the bed mounted spare. All new and rebuilt power steering, power brake and suspension components make this FJ comfortable and a pleasure to drive.
There are no known mechanical, cosmetic or electrical defects. Mechanically, the truck starts, runs, drives, steers and stops well and as it should. Cosmetically, there is very minimal normal wear and tear, as a full comprehensive restoration was completed within the last year.
The lights, gauges, air conditioning, wipers, stereo and all electronics are functional. It has a clean and clear title in the current owner’s name and the sale includes the importation documentation and two keys.
