In 1983, Land Rover significantly increased the dependability, comfort, and capability of their most robust model, the Series III, with the release of the One-Ten. While the Series trucks were typically marketed as work vehicles or for military usage, the new model was also geared towards private recreational usage. Therefore, much as with many other manufacturers, Land Rover began introducing minor changes year-to-year to encourage new sales. As with the Series vehicles, the new One-Ten, later renamed the Defender and joined by other wheelbase lengths, was available in several body styles and with a variety of motor and transmission options. All came four wheel drive and most were produced with a two-speed transfer case with a locking center differential. All of these changes resulted in a resurgence in sales, helping the company update the Range Rover and introduce the Discovery by the end of the eighties.

Because of its distinctive styling and effortless capability, the Defender, much like with the competing G-Class, has become something of a legend amongst automotive enthusiasts. Naturally, numerous restorers and builders have focused their efforts on upgrading and maintaining these exceptional vehicles. Based in New Hampshire, Manz Motor Company are one such entity. They lavish over six months of work on each vehicle, carefully going through every build to create a piece of art. With new builds costing over $200,000 and requiring a significant wait, it is no wonder each and every Defender they produce is as unique as the commissioner.

This 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 5-Door SUV featured here is finished in Land Rover Santorini Black Metallic over Cognac Brown leather with a matching Black mohair removable soft top. This incredible Defender has been restored from the chassis up and features a fully rebuilt 200TDI 2.5L 4-cylinder Diesel with an upgraded turbo charger for increased power. For added capability and refinement, the transmission, transfer case, and differentials were also rebuilt to last the lifetime of the vehicle. To optimize off-roading potential, this Land Rover also offers a two-inch lift, Fox 2.0 shocks, softer springs, and polyurethane bushings. Finally, the interior is wrapped in diamond-quilted leather with black anodized billet aluminum trim. In all, over $230,000 was spent on the restoration, making this reimagined Land Rover Defender one of the best examples on the market today. For the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to one of the very best at an investment price!
