About The Jeep Wrangler JK
The third generation of Jeep Wranglers, known by its program code “JK”, was produced between 2006 – 2018, preceding the Wrangler TJ and succeeded by the Wrangler JL. The JK continued the Wrangler’s tradition of body-on-frame composition, part-time 4-wheel drive with hi or lo gearing, and live axles, but repurposed the Unlimited sub-model name to introduce, for the first time in its production history a 4-door variation.
Additionally, the JK was wider, yet shorter, than its predecessor, and added stability control. You can find the Wrangler JK in Sport, X-S, Sahara, and Rubicon trim levels, with the latter distinguishing the most advanced off-road variation from the factory. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JK came with updated wheels, proprietary wheels, Dana 44 axles with 4.10 gearing, e-lockers, Rock-Trac 4-wheel drive, and electric releasing sway bar.
