This 1971 Land Rover 88 Series IIA is powered by a fuel-injected 3.9-liter V8 linked to a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck was acquired by the seller in the late 1990s. A refurbishment that was completed in 2011 is said to have involved a repaint in green and installation of the replacement drivetrain as well as a galvanized frame. Equipment includes alpine windows in the removable hardtop, 16″ alloy wheels, power steering, power-assisted disc brakes, sliding windows, a mesh grille, a Tuffy lockable console, an Alpine stereo, and inward-facing rear seats. This Series II Land Rover is now offered with refurbishment photos and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.

The body was refinished in green as part of the aforementioned refurbishment, a process that the seller states involved sourcing multiple replacement body panels. Features include a body-color removable hardtop with alpine windows as well as side mirrors, a front fender vent, a mesh grille, and sliding front and rear side windows.

Silver-finished 16″ alloy wheels sourced from a later-model Land Rover are mounted with 265/75 BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO tires. A matching full-size spare wheel and tire are shown in the photo gallery below. The truck is also equipped with power steering, parabolic leaf springs, and power-assisted disc brakes at all four corners.

The cabin was repainted concurrent with the body and features front bucket seats and inward-facing rear jump seats upholstered in black vinyl. A lockable Tuffy Security Products center console houses an Alpine head unit, and additional equipment includes door speakers, air vents, and rubber floor mats. An Optima battery and wiring harness are located in a compartment below the driver seat.

A leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel on an adjustable column features a Land Rover–branded center cap and flanks center-mounted instrumentation consisting of a 70-mph speedometer and combination gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and battery status. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles. The seller notes that the odometer reads inaccurately as a result of the powertrain swap, and true mileage is unknown. Approximately 1k miles have been added under current ownership.

The 3.9-liter V8 was fitted during the refurbishment by British 4×4 Automotive of Durham, North Carolina. Components include electronic fuel injection as well as an electric radiator fan.

Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through an R380 five-speed manual transmission and an LT230 dual-range transfer case. The seller notes that the front differential gasket needs to be replaced. A galvanized frame was reportedly fitted during the refurbishment, and a replacement large-capacity fuel tank was relocated underneath the cargo area.
