1976 Ford F100 XLT

We’re not sure if Ford was using the ‘Built-Ford-Tough’ slogan back in 1976, but if they were, this F-100 Ranger XLT would certainly qualify. The F-100 model had a distinctive squared-off appearance that is just right for a pickup. The current owner of this 2WD Ranger Styleside shortbed has possessed it for over 30 years and has taken substantial efforts to keep it in top condition. The exterior was refinished in Candy Apple Red (2017) and virtually all chrome and stainless trim was replaced. Door handles, lights, mirrors – all new. The bed was fitted with a thick rubber floor mat, custom bed cover and chrome side rails. Factory ‘sport wheels’ w/new centers/bolts mount nice 17” Nitto radial tires. The interior is outstanding – seating has been nicely reupholstered in burgundy cloth/vinyl and the dash has a refurbished pad. The F-100 retains a full complement of factory analog gauges and comfort features include A/C, tinted windows and an aftermarket AM/FM/CD sound system. New custom carpeting, door panels and headliner have also been installed. All weatherstripping has been replaced and the rear cab window has sliding glass.

Under the hood resides a Ford 390ci ‘FE’ series big-block. These FE motors are virtually indestructible and the owner states that this one has never required a rebuild. Upgrades include an Edelbrock intake/carburetor, new electric fuel pump, distributor and radiator w/dual electric fans. The battery, starter and dual exhaust system are also new. The FE is backed by a C-6 three-speed automatic and factory differential. A solid chassis is equipped with power steering, power disc/drum brakes and a custom Class III receiver mounted to the frame. The owner has provided an extensive list of all components that have been refreshed on this F-100. It is a classic Blue Oval truck to drive and enjoy.
