Look, I don’t really know if he did it, but I do know that his best friend Al Cowlings had awesome taste in trucks. This 1993 Ford Bronco XLT is similar to the one used in the world’s most famous slow-motion police chase, but way, way better. This ground up Bronco restomod is for sale from GR Auto Gallery out of Grand Rapids, Michigan for $53,900. If you buy this beast, you’ll be so enamored with it you’ll totally forget about being asked “is OJ in the back” every day.
The Model.
This Bronco is from the 2nd year of the 5th generation of the model line, but carries the same chassis that Ford introduced in 1980 with the 3rd generation rig. It’s a big, burly truck, and this particular model has been given new life, having been modified into a performance-oriented driver, with a range of mechanical, suspension and visual upgrades.
First and foremost, the power. This Bronco is powered by a 430 horsepower motor that was built by ATK Performance Engines. The build included new Dart aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake manifold, FI Tech fuel injection system, MSD ignition, Powermaster heavy duty alternator, performance pistons, Scat crank, Go EFI fuel management system, Ford Racing carbon fiber valve covers, Ford Racing carbon fiber open air cleaner element, performance connecting rods, valves and valve guides. As awesome as the spec sheet for the motor built is, the sound’s even better. Give the video below a look at about 2:15 if you’re the type that needs to hear it for yourself.
In terms of aesthetics, this Bronco has also had a pretty comprehensive exterior refurbishment, featuring a dazzling new coat of its original Oxford White paint, sharp looking black American Racing wheels, Warn winch, custom front bumper, PIAA front spot lights, a custom exhaust, performance suspension, rear mounted full size spare, and a custom steel hood.
While the interior isn’t as heavily modified, it does benefit from brand new tan vinyl seats with faux suede inserts, as well as a sharp looking integrated roll cage painted in black.
The Specs.
The build list is extensive on this '93 Bronco, and everything is in pristine condition, including a fresh coat of paint that was completed in late 2020. The mechanical restoration took place in 2018. Rest assured that GR Auto Gallery has an extensive collection of documentation on the work completed on the Bronco as well as previous service records (many shown in the gallery).
The bottom line: you couldn’t even THINK of building a Bronco this nice for less.
