I'm super excited to offer my 1988 RRC up for auction on Fourbie Exchange. She's not perfect, but she's a great driver that would make a great platform for a restoration, should its next owner choose to go in that direction. It has been well maintained, including a number of recent maintenance items as outlined, and comes with a replacement hood to replace the current hood that shows light damage. - The Range Rover Classic was produced by British Leyland and Rover Group from 1969 to 1996 as an upmarket, consumer-oriented variation of the legendary 4-wheel drive Land Rover. The Range Rover was introduced to the U.S. market in 1987.
- This 4-door Range Rover Classic is ready for weekend duty, or it offers the next caretaker a fantastic platform for restoration, featuring a rust-free and straight frame, roof rack, well-preserved glass, working gauges and lights, new headliner, and original mechanicals. A damage-free replacement hood is included in the sale. This example did not come equipped from the factory with a sunroof, which is desirable due to common leaking / breaking issues.
- Power comes from a 3.5L Rover V8, rated at 165 hp. and 205 lb.-ft. torque, sending power to all four wheels through a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission and a highly-desirable 2-speed LT230 transfer case.
- Recent maintenance includes new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new Terrafirma shocks, new brake master cylinder, new ignition switch, new coolant level sensor, exhaust work, new starter, and new battery. It has gently used 235/70R16 Yokohama Geolander tires with quite a bit of tread left.
- Seller notes the following known flaws: interior wear, exterior paint fade, intermittent tachometer, passenger-side windows inoperable, and passenger power seat inoperable (new switch required).
