You might not be able to haul a couple of tons with it, but these Japanese kei trucks, especially the 4wd ones, are fun little utilitarian machines. We're proud to offer this one for auction, and look forward to it going to its next owner who will hopefully take care of it as well as the previous owner clearly did. Let us know if we can answer any additional questions on this one. Thanks for looking.

-Jacob, Vans from Japan

  • This compact, right-hand drive Sambar has clearly been cared for over the years. A 4x4 and rated for hauling up to 771 lbs., we’re helping to find a new owner for this highly capable, fun-to-drive kei truck.
  • Power is delivered to all four wheels via a 2-cylinder EK23 engine and a 4-speed manual transmission which features an “Extra Low” gear for added torque.
  • Features include a drop gate bed with several tie down points, Subaru-branded rubber floor mats, round Koito headlights, a center console, top & rear engine access hatches, and original Japanese decals.
  • Recent maintenance includes a new radiator cap, new air filter, and preventative Amsoil Performance Improver fuel treatment. Halogen H4 headlights were added under previous ownership.
  • Known flaws include seam separation on the driver’s seat, and small scratches and dings that are consistent with the age of the truck.
  • Comes with one key.
  • Sold with a Japanese title (Export Certificate) and all of its original import documentation, including an English translation of the Export Certificate CBP 7501 Entry Summary (signed/stamped), EPA 3520-1, DOT HS-7, Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, and Notice of Arrival. Buyer will be provided a dealer Sales Contract and Bill of Sale from the selling dealer. State and local laws regarding the registration of imported vehicles vary. It is the buyer's responsibility to determine if they can legally register this vehicle in their home jurisdiction. This vehicle is not eligible for registration in CA and cannot be sold to a CA resident unless they intend to keep and register the vehicle out of state or use it strictly on private property. Sorry CA folks.
  • Please note, this vehicle is subject to CA sales tax (however, this can typically be applied as an offset against sales tax in your state). Sales tax is NOT due if delivery of the vehicle is taken outside of CA.

@DETROITDAVE - Thanks for the bid and answering @AVEACH ' s questions. One note, in my experience, the 550cc engines are good for about 55mph.

@Jane: The green button engages 4wd while the EL on the gear shift stands for "extra low" gear. Good feature to have. Probably wont win many drag races but these will get you to around 50mph.

Also, I see the 4WD on the gear knob and also a green button with 4WD. What is the difference?

@brannonw31 - This vehicle is currently in the US, so no need for it to go to a port. We can also help coordinate shipping anywhere in the US. We have a great transport broker we work with and typically move several cars per week.

@gingy03 @PDREYN02 - Thanks for the bids!
brannonw31

Can this ship to my home destination or does it have to go to a port?
Fourbie Exchange Admin

@PDREYN02 We do not disclose the reserve price. If the reserve is met by the end of the auction, the vehicle will be marked as “Sold.” If not, then it will be marked as “Bid To” and we will work with the seller and highest bidder to help broker a deal that works for both sides.
