Looking sharp and possessing a level of factory-correctness that's hard to come by, this 1972 Ford Bronco 4x4 represents its long-coveted model at a very cool point in its aesthetic history. Refreshed in Candy Apple Red, the exterior of this classic really presents well, with excellent gloss and painted white stripes running along its sides that show clean edges. Take a closer look, and you can see its visual connection to its counterparts from the present, and yet it's got an appearance all its own that's equal parts spartan and capable. Those smaller visual details that make for a finished classic have been taken care of, leaving it with trim, lights, and glass in good condition and badging that's securely in place. Not only is the accompanying white-painted hard top in solid shape, but unlike some of the later-arriving Bronco models, it is removable should you want to enjoy this iconic SUV in its open-air form.

Some serious attention was focused on the interior, paying dividends in the form of a pair of white vinyl-clad bucket seats that are in clean condition, and a dash area that arguably looks as good as when this Bronco rolled off the assembly line more than half a century ago. A pair of Rally Pack gauges is mounted on the steering wheel, accompanying the set recessed into the instrument cluster, and the aftermarket steering wheel, along with a retro-sound AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, is one of the few deviations from a thoroughly stock appearance, yet actually complements its surrounding components really well. A less visually obvious but welcome upgrade would be the compressor that accommodates the modern R134 refrigerant now coursing through the air conditioning system to provide year-round comfort.

This classic ride is propelled by period-correct power, in the form of the 302-cubic-inch V8 sitting in the center of a very well-maintained engine bay, surrounded by hoses, belts, and wiring that are in fine shape. Fed by a Motorcraft 2-barrel carburetor, the engine still wears a factory-style intake manifold, but now exhales into a pair of aftermarket long tube headers that lead out to a pair of Turbo mufflers, adding a pleasingly resonant exhaust note.
