About Rounded Line Chevy Trucks
The 3rd Generation of Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks were officially known as the "Rounded Line" but informally referred to as the "Squarebody." This bold and capable line of American pickups was offered in a number of configurations, including RWD (C-Series) or 4-wheel drive (K-Series), 2-door or 4-door cabs, and in a number of packages like the Cheyenne, Cheyenne Super, Custom, Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, and Silverado.
Your 3rd Generation Chevrolet C/K would also be offered as a 10, 20, or 30 model for 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton payload.
When it was introduced for the 1973 model year, the all-new Chevy Squarebody offered a swift departure from its predecessor, the Action Line. The exterior design reflected a boxy body styling, while the interior offered a more spacious and sedan-like cab.
The Squarebody retained the C/K nomenclature until 1987, after which it yielded the designation to the 4th Generation line of C/K pickup trucks. However, GM wasn't quite finished with the popular design and capability of the Squarebody, so they simply (if not confusingly) rebranded the 3rd Generation for the 1988 model year from C/K to R/V.
What is the 3rd Generation Chevy C/K Truck Worth?
Like most classic pickups, the average sales price for Chevy C/K trucks has fast appreciated over the past 5 years. CLASSIC.COM tabs the average price moving upward from about $17,800 in 2019 to about $25,500 today - a staggering 43% increase.
While we see many collector-grade and absolutely incredible restoration projects driving those average prices up, there is still extreme value to be found, like this example offered now for $18,000. Who knows? You might even be able to snag an even greater deal: make an offer today to find out.
