1998 Land Rover Defender RHD 110 300TDI w/ R380 transmission

Over the last few years we have been working towards building a 110 that honors the original late-40’s vehicles that started the iconic Series/Defender movement; this vehicle is the result.

This 1998 Defender 110 300TDI is a RHD from the UK. Finished in Bronze Green and Limestone, it’s an Anglophile’s dream that has undergone 400 hours of cosmetic and mechanical restoration to future proof it for its new life in the US. Our lead mechanic documented the entire process in a Word doc, typos and all, which I am happy to share.

We acquired this vehicle with a full service history and tons of receipts (hard copies will be supplied with the vehicle) from an owner that spared no expense over their 12 year ownership. As we began dismantling for restoration it was clear that this 110 had been well loved and invested in both financially and emotionally, having only covered 111,000 miles over 25 years.

Our goal mechanically is to ensure peace of mind and worry-free enjoyment. This meant spending over 200 hours worth replacing wear and tear items, ensuring all filters and fluids are replaced, and servicing the cooling system, drivetrain, and all other running gear. This 300TDI roars into life, the R380 manual transmission shifts smoothly, and it is a pleasure to drive. Importantly, we ensure that the chassis and structural elements of the vehicle are in safe working order. While this was already proven historically by the continued MOT records for this vehicle (which we renewed for 2024) however for good measure we thoroughly cleaned and sanded the chassis before adding new Waxoyl protection to prevent its exposure to the elements.

Cosmetically we stripped the vehicle back to complete a panel off repaint in Bronze Green LRC001 – including glass removal and brand new rubber seals for every window and door. A brand new Pilkington windscreen was fitted also. We replaced the second row doors and rear safari door, as well as adding a galvanized front bumper. The wheels were sandblasting before being refinished in the complimentary Limestone LRC007 along with the roof. The interior wears true to factory original “Rayleigh” cloth and is in fantastic shape. Bench seats and seatbelts in the rear renders this 110 a true 9-seater station wagon for all to enjoy.

Upon completion in Summer 2024, we sold it to a wealth advisor in SC, who loved it so much that he commissioned us to build a Heritage inspired soft top Defender 90. Upon completion of the 90, they decided that owning both vehicles may be excessive, so I jumped at the chance to take this 110 back as part of the deal. I always had a soft spot for this one, so I am excited to have it back to enjoy with my family while it’s For Sale. I’d be happy to share photos of his commission if interested, it’s almost as nice as this one! Joey was meticulous and even though he only owned from the Fall of 24 to March 25 he spent about $7k in additional preventative maintenance, including replacing the head gasket (inc. skimming the head), head bolts, water pump, fuel pump, thermostat housing, and various gaskets. It was professionally detailed prior to shipping it down to him, including paint correction, and it still looks fantastic. He kept it garaged, and told me he wouldn’t even drive it in the rain, which is hilarious to me as someone who grew up driving Defenders around our farm in rural England!

In summary, this is a beautifully restored 110 that will turn heads and invite conversation wherever you go. Whilst a real head turner, its cosmetic beauty is complimented by its mechanical prowess, which will provide worry-free adventures for many years to come.

I have hundreds of photos throughout the restoration, the service history, receipts, and finished beauty shots available upon request. I can coordinate delivery to anywhere in the lower 48. The vehicle is on a WI Title for easy transfer to your state. Note that Sales Tax is not included and is payable to your local DMV upon title/registration. All customs/import documents can be supplied along with the vehicle if desired (though they are no longer needed). I am happy to chat about any of our Defenders anytime (we’ve got many in stock and in the works) and I am open to sharing customer references as desired.

Please feel free to text me – 262-729-5593. I’m more than happy to jump on a video call to show you around the vehicle live anytime.

$74,950 – reasonable offers can be discussed.
