About This Custom TItan Turned IH Scout
In a dream world, the body panels from a 1967 International Harvester Scout would fit nicely right on top of a fresh-from-the-factory-floor 2016 Nissan Titan PRO-4X, but as the images below show, that is far from the case. This build involved extensive work to make this pairing work, starting with a significant reduction in the Titan’s 139.8 inch wheelbase. That wheelbase was shortened to a mere 93.8 inches, just a bit shorter than a stock 67 Scout (100 inches).Â
The bed was then grafted to the cab, hand fabricated quarter panels formed, and an expedition hatch was affixed atop the bed. From there, the build team hand fabricated panels to mimic almost exactly the body panels from a 67 Scout. They fitted custom built bumpers to the front and rear, of which the front was outfitted with an integrated winch, tow hook and fog lights. In order to preserve the classic vertical orientation of the windshield, the build team removed the Titan’s windshield and replaced it with the windshield from a classic Ford F100.Â
From there, the finishing touches include some LED headlights as well as some really, really beautiful green paint set aside tan accents and striping, and also some gorgeous looking classic black steel wheels, chrome hubcaps and off-road tires.
Features & Specifications
This custom restomodded Scout is in excellent condition, having been used only sparingly as a promotional vehicle for a business. As it’s underpinned by a 7-year old vehicle with only 20,000 miles on the odometer, it’s also in excellent mechanical condition.Â
