-Inside, the Willys retains its vintage character with refurbished seat frames and new tan vinyl upholstery. Lap belts were added for safety, and details such as a fire extinguisher and an ammunition box complete the military-inspired theme. The dash features a three-spoke steering wheel and a refreshed gauge cluster with readouts for speed, fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows just over 900 miles since the restoration, with true mileage unknown.
Power comes from a rebuilt 134ci L-head inline-four engine that was completely disassembled, tanked, and bored .080” over. The cylinder head was milled, the crankshaft was reground, and the build included new pistons and rings, bearings, camshaft and gear, valves, oil and water pumps, and a high-amperage distributor. Supporting systems were modernized with an alternator, aluminum radiator with fan shrouding, new exhaust system, new wiring, and a completely renewed fuel system with a replacement tank, lines, and sender.
