This 1970 Land Rover 88 Series IIA was purchased in Switzerland in 1982 by the current owner, who imported the truck to the United States in 1988. The vehicle was later refurbished between 2019 and 2023 with work that involved replacing the galvanized frame, overhauling the suspension and the brakes, repainting the body in green, and adapting Autoera electronic ignition. Power is supplied by a 2.25-liter gasoline inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck features 16″ steel wheels, a hood-mounted spare, a tropical roof, a custom headliner, a drop-down tailgate, black vinyl upholstery, and a heater. This Series IIA is now offered on dealer consignment with parts receipts since 2015 and a California title.
The truck features aluminum body panels that were repainted in Light Green during the aforementioned refurbishment. The body-color vented tropical roof has alpine windows. The galvanized front bumper was replaced in 2021, and the exterior lamps, windshield-wiper arms and blades, and door locks and latches are among the other components that were replaced during the refurbishment. Additional equipment includes sliding windows, fender-mounted side mirrors, cowl vents, a folding windshield, a drop-down tailgate, and turn signals.
Silver-painted 16″ steel wheels wear 225/75 Laufenn X Fit HT tires that were replaced in 2021; an older spare tire is secured to the hood. The front and rear brake shoes were replaced in 2019. The suspension was overhauled around the same time with the replacement of the springs, shocks, U-bolts, and shackles.
The interior headliner was custom-built and is true to the original design.
The vehicle is in perfect working condition and registered in California.
