1977 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Chalet
The Chevrolet Blazer Chalet was only produced in 1976 and 1977 and in relatively limited numbers It is estimated that only around 1,800 of them and the GMC Jimmy Casa Grande version were produced and they are very rare now.
The Chalet was produced through as a joint venture between Chevrolet and RV-manufacturer Chinook, hoping to capitalize on America’s growing interest in outdoor adventures during that time. The process created a step-through camper that was permanently installed onto the rear of a K5 Blazer. Because of the extensive modifications involved in the process, it has been rumored that the Chalets feature the best build quality of the K5 production run.
While the campers were produced with a pop-top roof, this one had the roof permanently affixed at some point during prior ownership. While there are some rust spots on the body, the frame seems to show little to none, basically just some surface rust.
