Who said brawny can’t be beautiful, too? We’ve covered other H1s on Fourbie Exchange, but this is without a doubt the most gorgeous. Rest assured, it will still absolutely eat trails alive.
One of only a few over 800 H1s made in 1999, this modified, 8,684 mile Hummer H1 is being offered for sale by P1 Automotive out of Doral, Florida. It comes at a significant cost of $190,000, but a quick look at the walk-around video, the seller-supplied photos and the build list tells the story of a rig that we think is worth every penny.
One of 831 H1s produced for the 1999 model year, this Hummer fell smack dab in the middle of the H1s production run from 1992 to 2006, or as we like to say “the sweet spot.” And speaking of sweet spot, the H1’s sweet spot is where the road ends. Despite being absolutely stunning looking, this H1 can ford 30 inches of water thanks in part to its air-intake being high-mount, and it can also climb straight up a 22” step. It has a ground clearance of 16”, delivered in part by AM General’s design which called for tucking the driveline components inside a channel between the seats, and inboard brakes and portal gears allowing the H1s half shafts to be placed higher in the vehicle. It all adds up to a rig that has a ridiculous approach angle of 72 degrees and a departure angle of 37.5 degrees.
What a remarkable machine.
The Specs.
The first thing you notice about this H1 is that it has been coated in a color called Grigio Telesto, which is a color that you can have your Lambo delivered in from the factory. But the connection to Lamborghini doesn’t stop on the exterior. The interior is Lamborghini-inspired as well, offering luxurious leather seats for seating for four and includes touches like a Lambo bull embroidered into the headrests.
Performance is delivered by a PPE Xcelerator tuned 6.6 Liter Duramax Turbo Diesel V8 that is producing 800 horses and a dazzling 1000 lb ft of torque, sent to the wheels by a rugged 4-speed automatic.

OVERALL CONDITION & KNOWN FLAWS:
With under 10,000 miles on the odometer and a recent restomod, it’s no surprise that this H1 is in impeccable condition. The paint is gorgeous and unbelievably glossy, rivaled only in condition by the luxurious interior. While the beauty of the engine bay can’t keep pace with the rest of the vehicle, it’s quite well-sorted and appears clean and free of fluid leaks. The seller lists no known flaws, and a detailed run through the seller-provided photos confirms it.
