CARFAX Report

This modified 2002 Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 has sold, but you can explore more classic, rare, and custom Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUVs and off-road builds now on Fourbie Exchange.

Overview
When you’re rolling down the street or trail in this custom-finished, matte-gray, Rhino-Lined Mercedes-Benz G500, wrapped in 33-inch Toyo Open Country tires and riding on 20-inch KMC Rock Star alloys, there’s no mystery what people are staring at.

They’re looking at you—because you’re driving one seriously capable, seriously cool fourbie.

Offered by Garage Kept Motors, this customized 2002 G500 shows just 67,167 miles and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8. Priced at $59,900 when listed, it’s a striking example further enhanced by a collection of professionally executed upgrades that blend rugged utility with high-end style.

About the Mercedes-Benz W463
The Mercedes-Benz W463 G-Class debuted in 1992 as the successor to the utilitarian W460. While the W460 was built primarily for military and commercial duty, the W463 added the refinement and luxury expected of a Mercedes-Benz—putting it squarely in competition with the Range Rover

Both the W463 and its work-oriented sibling, the W461, shared stronger engines and an advanced full-time four-wheel-drive system. The W463 introduced smoother body lines, updated bumpers and grille, standard running boards, and a far more comfortable cabin with leather upholstery, wood trim, and improved ergonomics.

Although the G-Class wasn’t officially sold in the U.S. until 2002, New Mexico-based Europa International, Inc. imported and federalized examples for high-end buyers throughout the 1990s, paving the way for its eventual American debut.

Market Perspective
Owning a Mercedes-Benz W463 G-Class comes at a cost—the average five-year rolling value sits around $102,000, according to Classic.com, factoring in all variants from the G500 to the wild G63 AMG 6×6

By comparison, the $59,900 asking price of this low-mileage G500 represented outstanding value, especially considering its tasteful modifications and overall condition. Similar examples average around $61,000, with rare cabriolet versions fetching far more.

Specs & Condition
This particular G500 spent much of its life on the West Coast before being offered by Garage Kept Motors. A comprehensive CARFAX report confirms consistent servicing and ownership history.

Originally modified by the now-defunct Antidote Motorsports, the truck retains much of its factory refinement while adding select enhancements that complement its factory capability.
