Originally sold to CT Light and Power as a fleet truck, then to a CT car dealership that used it only for snow plowing, then to a William Wolf, of Manchester, CT, and then  to the current owner in 1997. He's had it for the last 30 years. In that time, the truck has only been driven locally, with 5:40-1 gears in the diffs, this truck only hits 45 MPH as a top speed, so it doesn't travel far, less than 3000 miles in those last 30 years. Most of those were to the town landfill, parades and just to local/same town shows. The odometer currently shows just less than 48,000 - 47,825

It's been well cared for over those years, getting the oil changed every couple years (which only amounted to about 200-300 miles), in the last few years the carb has been rebuilt, the master cylinder rebuilt (still some working happening there that will be finished before the truck goes to a new home), new cylinder head,  the fuel pump was rebuilt and the gas tank replaced. In the last 10-15 years axle bearings were done, axle seals, brake shoes, the tires were replaced with STA (Specialty Tires of America) Superlugs 9x16LT bias plies.

When the truck was first purchased by this owner, the frame had seen the worst of New England winters, so the body was pulled and a rust free frame put under it, custom made "running boards" were added at the same time along with the Braden PTO winch, which works as it should.

This has always been a work truck so while it presents well at 10 feet, there are dings and scratches and ancient repairs that one would expect on a 67 year old vehicle. The bed that is installed on it is believed to have been on it since CL+P owned the truck, it is a not often seen 47 vintage 4 post bed (as opposed to the 3 post from then on).

Along with the character adding patina, there is some surface rust but not rot through. The glass is good only crack is in the driver window the track is a little buggered so it takes a very gentle, patient hand to get it to roll all the way down. The AC (slide out front window and side vent windows) works as it should. The interior is also typical of a nearly 70 year old work truck. Functional but not pretty. There is a tear in the driver side of the black vinyl bench seat, most of the interior trim and headliner is missing, but everything works as it should. The horn beeps (sort of sad for such  a big brawny truck), individual wipers works, the gauges work, all the lights work (the upper "driving lights", the headlights, blinkers and brake lights, even the emergency flashers! .. correction - the spotlight is not connected but did work when the truck was purchased), the heat has been bypassed so that switch is not connected.

Pull the choke just a little, touch the gas pedal, turn the key and the 230 flathead six fires very quickly to life and idles super smooth for a big flat head. In this form it produces 135 HP and 205 lb ft of torque at just 1200 rpm. While that may not seem like a lot, when paired with a 2 speed transfer case and the 5:40-1 gears it will pull down buildings. The transmission shifts correctly, the T-case shifts from high to low range and the PTO lever for the winch engages as it should. The Mico-Lok was not tested as there is still the current brake fix underway.

With stunning examples of these W300M Power Wagons touching high 5 figures (one just sold for $137,000), this one is a solid driver, with a short, working, history that can be used to drag trees off your property, haul them to the mill and then cleaned up and taken down to the local cruise night where only a handful of people will know what it is, but will certainly gather attention.
