This 1970 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 retains its numbers-matching original F-series inline-six, transmission, transfer case, and driveline, with the engine stampings photographed and documented in the binder that comes with the truck. Everything was recently serviced, and the transfer case received new seals. It runs well and starts right up. The clutch was rebuilt with a heavy-duty assembly kit and a resurfaced flywheel, and the ignition was converted to an electronic system with a new coil, plugs, and wires. A new starter, a new gas tank with a Dakota Digital sending unit, fresh fuel hoses, a fuel filter, and a new tail pipe round out the running gear. Under prior California ownership the carburetor was rebuilt and the water pump replaced.

The truck is a thoroughly documented restoration of a California original, purchased out of Long Beach in 2020 in solid condition and then taken through a comprehensive refresh, with nearly every wear, trim, and electrical item replaced using correct parts from Specter Off Road. That binder of receipts and part numbers means the buyer inherits a complete record of what was done and what it came from.

Underneath sits a 2-inch Specter Off Road lift built around heavy-duty leaf springs, Explorer Pro-Comp extended shocks, anti-inversion tri-shackles, and graphite-impregnated poly bushings, riding on five new Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. The steering box was rebuilt, with new tie rod ends, a steering dampener, and a new 4x4 shift cable. Brake hoses and the parking brake cable were replaced, following new calipers and pads all around from the prior owner. Inside, a Dakota Digital cluster (silver face, blue illuminated) pairs with a Vintage Air Gen II heater, reupholstered seating from the earlier work, and the two rear jump seats this body style is known for.

Cosmetically, the body was worked to clean up panel gaps before being repainted in a light blue with Chrysler Grey rims, top, and accents, and the underside was fully coated in POR-15. The flip-down windshield is fully functional with new hinges and weatherstripping. A complete new wiring harness and 12-circuit fuse box were installed. The Specter Off Road refresh runs across the truck: exterior lights (headlights are original), badging, weatherstripping, glass and molding (the two rear curved glass panels are no longer reproduced and remain original), window cranks, door handles, mirrors, chrome wing window panels, billet hood trim, and correct metric hardware with gold anodized accessories throughout.
