In 1977 Mercedes-Benz introduced a new van/truck (a.k.a. transporter) as a successor to the L-206. It was called T1 internally, but also designated as the TN which stood for “Transporter Neu,” the T1N for Transporter 1 Neu,” and Bremer Transporter, a nod to the fact that the truck was since the vehicle was built in the Transporter Plant in Bremen, Germany early on–in 1983 and 1984 production shifted to Dusseldorf, Germany. The Mercedes TN Series was produced all the way until 1995, when it became the predecessor to the wildly popular Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
The 207D is one of several models that came out of the TN line, and is configured as a Forward Control Cab-Over-Engine (COE) truck with a diesel power plant. It has a gross weight 2,550 kilograms or 5,622 pounds.
