The F-450 is a part of the Super Duty series of pickup trucks produced by Ford starting in 1999. It was a novel idea–while many manufacturers adapted their existing light duty trucks for heavier-duty use, Ford purpose-built a line built to work. The Super Duty series trucks range from the 3/4 ton F-250 to the 1 and ½ ton chassis F-450, which is the largest pickup truck Ford sells in North America. I know, I know, it’s not as big as the F-550, but the F-550 is only sold in Chassis Cab configuration, allowing its buyer to outfit it as they choose based on its intended use.

The Beast With a Twin Turbo Twist

The 2019 Ford F-450 Super Duty comes from the factory with a pretty damn stout 6.7L Turbo Diesel motor producing 450 horsepower and a mind-bending 935 lb ft of torque. It’s ready to work. But that didn’t do it for the previous owner. So they pulled out their checkbook (kidding, it was probably a credit card) and went absolutely HAM on this thing. They added a Midwest Twin Turbo Kit with a Fleece Performance Cheetah Valley Charger, a 7685 Atmosphere Charger, a No Limit diesel charge air cooler and a bunch of other go-fast bits to make it even more powerful. Of course, to put all that power to all four rear wheels, they needed to fortify the transmission, so they outfitted it with a Midwest Competition transmission rated for about 1000 horsepower and a Precision Industries Billet triple disc torque converter.
