Offered by Garage Kept Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this build started life as a 6.7-liter Power Stroke F-550 with 935 lb-ft of torque and evolved into a military-grade overlanding platform with luxurious living accommodations. Listed at $174,900, it’s an extraordinary blend of brute strength and off-grid comfort.  

The Severe Duty F-Series: Built Beyond Super Duty 
The team at DBL Design didn’t think Ford’s “Super Duty” badge went far enough. About seven years ago, they began converting standard F-450 and F-550 trucks into military-spec machines—complete with forged axles, double beadlock wheels, central tire inflation systems, and even 6×6 conversions. 

This particular truck is a Stage 1 Severe Duty conversion, addressing the most critical performance components: gears, axles, wheels, tires, fenders, suspension, brakes, and bumpers. The transformation includes Super Single Wheels, replacing the stock dual rear setup with single heavy-duty wheels front and rear—greatly improving traction and off-road maneuverability. 

The result? A seriously capable 4×4 truck that looks at civilization in the rearview mirror. Outfitted with a Four Wheel Campers Grandby Flatbed camper, this rig is equally suited for overland exploration or full-scale bug-out scenarios.
