Why This Car Is Special
Early in the 50’s, GMC trucks were GMC’s answer to the Chevrolet Task Force trucks that ran from late 1955 through 1959. What we would like to show you at Skyway Classics is a restored and modified version of a 1958 GMC truck with the 56 nose.

It is a beauty and has been upgraded with many features like the small block engine and transmission, the beautifully restored body painted in dark red, a new custom interior, factory Rally wheels and performance tires.

Mechanical
It is powered by a modified GM 350 cubic inch small block engine an aluminum intake, 4-barrel performance carb, black open element air cleaner, cast iron exhaust manifolds, and black valve covers. Power goes to the automatic transmission with exhaust flowing out the rear, and rides on black sidewall tires and factory Rally type wheels with chrome trim rings and tires.

Interior
The custom interior has a maroon and white bench seat with matching door panels, factory dash uses Autometer custom gauges, and a custom billet wood steering wheel adds to the 21st century feel. It has a radio, floor mounted automatic shifter as the whole interior looks nice and is just as comfy.

Exterior
Painted a maroon over the flowing GMC lines and pickup represents the first of the pickups that were actually styled by designers rather than merely engineered. As a result, they carry a lot of automotive-inspired design cues, so if you see a little bit of Shoebox Chevy in the design, the coincidence is purely intentional. The paint is in excellent condition and this truck gets a ton of attention anywhere you go.

Enhancing the upscale look is the white bumpers and restored grille, step-side bed, chrome mirror, aluminum toolbox, maroon inside the bed protection, and trim, all very nice. They clearly focused on making it right and they’ve definitely succeeded in a very big way. This truck is very, very nice!

Conclusion
This 1958 GMC pickup at Skyway Classics is truly a show truck and will win a trophy anywhere. Do not miss out on buying this truck by not coming here to see it! This is a no-compromises truck built to very high standards, and you’ll be proud to call it your own. So give us a call at 941-254-6608.
