1969 Ford F-100 4x4 For Sale.

SOLD $52,000 | MERRITT MOTOR CO. | KANNAPOLIS, NC

This thing was pretty badass back in the summer of ‘69, but let me tell you, somehow this thing has only gotten better with every year. For sale by Merritt Motor Co. out of Kannapolis, North Carolina is this really, really special restored 1969 Ford F-100 4x4 for an asking price of $52,000. It’s our favorite kind of restoration–one that preserves the original Sky Blue View paint and its 53 years of delicious patina.

We’ve been watching in awe as Jared and the craftsmen at Merritt meticulously build this thing over the last six months, and we’re so pumped that it’s time for it to go to its lucky new owner. Are you feeling lucky?

The Bumpside Ford: 1969 Ford F-100.

The fifth generation of the Ford F-Series, known affectionately as the “Bumpside,” is a line of pickup trucks and commercial trucks that were built by the Blue Oval from 1967 to 1972. Built on the same platform as the fourth generation F-series trucks, the fifth generation had sharper styling lines, an upsized cabin, additional comfort amenities, and expanded engine options. Three trim levels were available, but in 1970 the names were changed.

The previous "Base" trim became the "Custom" and the "Custom Cab" became the "Sport Custom," joining "Ranger" as optional levels of equipment and trim. These trim levels were to cater to different levels of comfort, including options like A/C.

The Ford F-100 was the entry-level light-duty pickup offered by Ford during the 5th Generation run. The front Twin I-Beam front suspension from the previous generation was utilized, featuring a much more comfortable ride than the F-250 and F-350, which rode on a beefier suspension and drivetrain. The F-100 came as a two-door standard cab with the option of a Styleside or Flareside bed in long or short bed configurations. It was offered as a two-wheel drive model or on a four-wheel drive platform like this example.

The F-100 came in a number of different engine options including two six-cylinder engines, a 240cid, 300cid, and four V8's, 302cid, 352cid, 360cid, and a 390 cid. Similarly, a number of different transmissions were offered, including Ford’s “Cruise-O-Matic” 3-speed auto, three speed manual transmission and later a four speed manual.
