cleanThe heart of the truck is the 5.9L inline-six 12-valve Cummins turbodiesel, the engine that built this platform's reputation for durability and easy, torque-rich towing. Behind it is a heavy-duty, custom-built BD automatic transmission paired with an HD torque converter a setup chosen to stand up to the Cummins' output far better than a stock unit and to make this a confident tow rig. A 409 stainless steel exhaust handles the gases, and 4.10 gearing keeps the truck pulling hard where it matters. It's a powertrain combination built around the way these trucks actually get used.
The supporting hardware follows the same theme. Braking has been upgraded to discs at all four corners, and the truck rolls on BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires measuring a healthy 12/32 of tread. For towing duty there's a Commander electric trailer brake controller, and the driver keeps an eye on the diesel's vitals through Isspro pyrometer and transmission temperature gauges mounted cleanly on the A-pillar. Inside, this LE trim includes power windows and locks, and the cab has been brought up to date with a Sony touchscreen Bluetooth head unit, with a TRC-415 CB radio along for the ride.
