1993 Toyota Land Cruiser
Triple-Locked | 134k Miles | Three-Owner Western Truck
This 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser (FZJ80) is a factory triple-locked example that has spent its entire life in the Mountain West. Powered by the 4.5-liter 1FZ-FE inline-six paired to the A442F four-speed automatic and full-time 4WD with a lockable center differential plus factory front and rear electric lockers, it shows 134,008 miles and carries a complete set of records and receipts from new, including the original dealer sales order form. It has been methodically upgraded by the current enthusiast owner with a period-correct complement of suspension, armor, reliability, and interior modifications.
Ownership History
Originally purchased new in Idaho and garaged at a ski condo in Sun Valley, with periodic trips to a second residence in Santa Monica, California. The coastal time accounts for the light clear-coat fading noted below. The first owner sold the truck out of Idaho to the second owner, who kept it at a home in Montana.
Five years ago, the current owner, a dedicated 80-series enthusiast, acquired the truck with 112,000 miles. Since then it has been driven sparingly, stored indoors, methodically maintained, and tastefully upgraded. It has occasionally towed a fishing raft for which dedicated electrical towing ports were added at the rear bumper.

Service, Mechanical Updates, and Maintenance
Beyond routine fluids and wear items, the current owner has carried out the commonly recommended preventive work for a 1993 80-series:
* Pesky Heater Hose (PHH) updated
* All coolant hoses replaced with Gates Green heavy-duty hoses
* Fuel filter relocated to the firewall
* EGR deleted and PAIR system removed
* New O2 sensors installed and relocated to the former PAIR ports
* Engine wiring harness wrapped in AlumaWrap heat shielding
* 1994-spec ECU installed (widely recommended upgrade for 1993 U.S. LCs)
* Oil pan heater installed
* New timing chain tensioner (the 1FZ-FE is a chain engine, so no belt interval)
* Transmission, front and rear differential, and transfer case fluids all serviced within the last 15,000-20,000 miles and up to date
Many additional new parts have been installed throughout the engine bay, too many to list individually, all documented in the records that accompany the truck.
Condition and Known Flaws
* Light clear-coat fading on the roof and, to a lesser extent, the driver's side, visible in the listing photos
* A couple of small cracks on the dash, typical of the year
* No rust anywhere on the body or frame
* No leaks from the engine, transmission, transfer case, or differentials
