1996 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

SOLD  $39,250 | CASCADE OVERLAND IMPORTS | PORTLAND, OR

The 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado was awesome when it rolled off the factory floor, but this one being offered for sale by Cascade Overland Imports has had a serious glow up. This 104,000 mile Prado sports an out-of-this-world coat of Lunar Rock paint from the 2021 TRD Pro line, a torquey 1KZ-TE turbo diesel 4-cylinder engine and a suspension and wheel and tire setup that looks exactly right. $39,250 drives it home from Portland, Oregon.

ABOUT THE TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a full-size four-wheel drive vehicle that lives within the Land Cruiser range. Despite being considered full-size and including a rugged body-on-frame design, multi-stage suspension system and ultra-capable 4wd system giving it excellent off-road capabilities, the Prado is one of the smaller vehicles in the Land Cruiser range and was always marketed toward on-road and light-duty use versus off-road use. It was the perfect solution for people that wanted a vehicle that was capable on the off chance it was needed off-road, but weren’t willing to live with the bone-jarring ride often offered by bigger purpose-built 4x4s.

The lineup included 2-door and 4-door versions available in SX, LX or EX (4-door only) trim. Powering the Prado is a 3.0L 1KZ-TE turbo diesel 4 cylinder engine that sends it's factory-rated 128 horsepower and 212 lb-ft. to all four wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

On the outside, the first generation Land Cruiser Prado vehicle had flat surfaces with barely any curves giving it a tall, boxy look that you can’t help but love. Inside, the Prado was available with up to 8 seats in the 5-door version like this one, with tons of room for passengers of all sizes, even super tall ones. And with all of that glass, all Prado passengers enjoyed uninterrupted views of the outside world.

The Specs.

This gorgeous right-hand-drive Prado was imported from Yokohama Japan into Tacoma, WA and now holds an Oregon title. It received a new timing belt at around 62,000 miles and Cascade Overland Imports reports that all importation documents are available along with a local inspection from a JDM experienced Toyota mechanic.
