A rare, early Td5 Double Cab—one of the first of this configuration to make it into the U.S.—and a truck we specifically went back out to find again after selling the last one.
84,000 miles, factory air conditioning, and a driving experience that stands out immediately. Hampton is smooth, composed, and genuinely usable—this is a Defender you can live with day to day.
Driving & Mechanical
Powered by the Td5 with a Stage 1 ECU map, this truck pulls well and cruises comfortably. We’ve had it up to 85 mph with no drama, and it remains impressively economical for what it is.
Suspension has been fully refreshed with new springs, Bilstein shocks, and new bushings throughout. The result is a notably supple ride—this is one of the better-driving 110s we’ve had.
UK Preparation — Done Properly
Before export, Hampton went through a thorough and conscientious round of work in the UK—focused on the things that actually matter in long-term ownership.
Key areas addressed include:
- New rear crossmember fitted
- Footwell repairs carried out properly
- Full suspension refresh (springs, shocks, and bushings)
- New fuel pump
- Exhaust components replaced (link pipe and rear muffler)
- Injector harness replaced and engine serviced
- Brake system refreshed with new front and rear pads
- General service items, gaskets, and hardware addressed throughout
This wasn’t cosmetic prep—it was targeted, mechanical work to bring the truck up to a solid baseline before it ever left the UK.
Why This Truck
