The Ford F-550 is an undeniable workhorse from the factory. Built to bridge the gap between their passenger pickups and the monster F-650 and F-750, the Ford F-550 sported a GVWR of an impressive 19,500 lbs, putting it in the Class 5 truck market. Available only as a chassis cab with dual rear wheels, the 550 was largely aimed at commercial buyers. 

THIS Ford F-550 takes the stock truck and dials it up a few notches. On the exterior, the first thing that probably catches your eye is the paint job, which features a shade from Toyota called Quicksand. It’s a polarizing color in the Toyota community, but it looks freaking hot on this Ford. You’ll also notice that this chassis cab has been fitted with a Western Hauler Bed from the folks at Utility Bodywerx, an upgrade that retails for about $18,000. Black wheels, a roof rack with KC Lights and custom bumpers including a front bumper that features an integrated winch round out a really killer looking truck.

Mechanically, it’s not only in excellent condition, but it’s been notably enhanced with a bulletproofed 6.0 Liter Powerstroke Diesel. The thing is the 6.0 Liter Powerstroke was a beast of a motor, but it was riddled with issues from the factory. Enter the team from BulletProof Diesel, who developed a series of solves for the main issues that plagued the motor: Oil cooler, EGR cooler, head studs, fuel injection control module and water pump. The hauler also features a 4-link Kelderman suspension with auto leveling airbags, as noted in the open. 

This is indeed a lot of truck for the price.
