2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Premium

SOLD  | TITUS ADVENTURE COMPANY |  DENVER, CO

Meet Patsy. That’s what Titus Adventure Company affectionately named this Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Premium Double Cab, which they have listed for sale for $56,000. And the best part? As a former member of their rental fleet, it comes complete with a rooftop tent setup so that you can escape the grid until your heart’s content. It has 42,750 miles and is in excellent condition, including the "Super White" paint, which will be completely uncovered when they remove the TAC graphics before you drive Patsy home.

The Model.

This example is a 3rd generation Tacoma, which was introduced first in the 2015 model year, and borrowed exterior styling cues from the previous model year Tundra and 4Runner. That included a big honkin' grille, new projector-beam headlamps and a redesigned air dam at the front of the Taco. Toyota also redesigned the tailgate and bed, featuring a debossed Tacoma logo as well as an infused spoiler. New character lines were also observed on the truck as well as an air dam in front of the vehicle.

But this Taco is so clearly an overlander, so let’s focus on its off-road abilities. It starts with the 3.5 liter V6 delivering 278 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 265 lb ft of torque at 4600 rpm. For the 3rd gen, Toyota updated the truck's frame by adding more high-strength steel in order to increase the truck's rigidity and to drop weight, helping it tow up to 6,800 lb with the added tow package.

The body is also constructed using ultra-high-strength steel that was integrated using a hot stamping process reducing weight and adding strength. Toyota also updated the suspension, rear differentials, and rear axle to make it a bit more pleasant to drive just in case you ever need to drive it on a paved road.

The TRD Off-Road trim models (like this one) also feature a terrain select mode allowing the driver to choose between different types of terrain such as loose rock, mud, sand and snow. They also gave it crawl control, which is a pretty trick feature that allows the driver to steer in tough terrain while the truck manages braking and acceleration by itself at low speeds.

It even has a GoPro mount standard so that you can document all of your adventures.

It appears Titus Adventure Company did an excellent job on upkeep and maintenance of this Taco, with both the interior and exterior (did we mention it comes with a rooftop tent?) showing no notable flaws. Here’s an up-close look at Patsy:
