If you’re into the rare fourbies, boy have we got the rig for you. One so rare it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Lamborghini of Newport Beach is offering this stunning 2010 Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia with just shy of 15,000 original miles. At $130,000, it’s not cheap, but our guess is that it won’t be on the market for very long before someone snatches it up for their collection.
The Model.
This. Thing. Is. Rare. Porsche only ever made 285 examples of the Cayenne S Transsyberia. Of those 285, only 119 were imported into North America, and only 46 of those were in this sharp black and orange color combination. It’s a pretty safe bet that if you buy it you won’t see your neighbor wheeling one of these in your neighborhood.
The Cayenne S Transsyberia was designed to commemorate Porsche’s entrance into the 2007 Transsyberia Rally, a road rally spanning 4,500 grueling miles across Russia's Siberia region. The rally is open only to 4 wheel drive automobiles (fourbies) and trucks. Technical modifications to improve safety, reliability and ease-of-maintenance are allowed in the race, but the vehicles have to stay street legal.
Each of the Transsyberia models was fitted with air suspension, active suspension management, the Cayenne GTS' slightly up-rated 405-horsepower engine, stainless steel skid plates front and rear, and a lower 4.11:1 final drive ratio for superior off-roading prowess. To that end, it claimed a 29 degree approach angle, 23 degree departure angle, 20 degree ramp breakover angle and an impressive 8.6” ground clearance.
The Specs.
This is an unmodified Transsyberia, and despite being over a decade old, it appears to be in impeccable shape. The previous owner clearly knew what they had and took great care to preserve the condition of the truck. We’re not sure it has seen an unpaved road, so you should definitely buy it and get it dirty.
