The Jeep Wrangler JK platform was offered by Jeep for the 2007 - 2018 model years, and encompassed a series of trims, engines, transmissions to suit a variety of buyers and needs. The Jeep JK was offered in the following trim levels: 

• Sport:  Base two-door variation with relatively few standard features and options. Previously known as the Wrangler X until the 2009 model year.
• Sahara:  A more feature-rich offering trading some off-road preferences for technology and luxury/comfort options.
• Rubicon:  The off-road ready Wrangler with more aggressive 4x4 supporting genetics.
• Unlimited:  A sub-option of the Sahara and Rubicon accounting for four doors vs. the standard two.

Additionally, there were a series of Editions available, like the Islander, Arctic, and Mountain Editions, which provided even more factory configurations for buyers to get confused over.

Now, this being a Sahara iteration it is slightly more geared toward on-road comfort over the more off-road capable Rubicon, but its still a cool and competent 4x4.

The Jeep Sahara JK features Dana 44 rear axle (same as the Rubicon), Dana 30 front axle (vs. the Dana 44 on the Rubicon), and Command-Trac shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system (vs. Rock-Trac on the Rubicon).

Powering the Jeep Wrangler JK were a series of engines: a 3.8L V6 (2007-2011), a 3.6L V6 (2012-2017), and a 2.8L diesel I4. The 3.6L V6 powering this particular example is a gas-powered engine available with either a five-speed manual (W5A580) or six-speed automatic (NSG370) transmission. The Pentastar 3.6L V6 replaced the earlier 3.8L V6 and, while both are generally well-regarded for their reliability, the 3.6L offered superior power and ride comfort.
