With its bright white paint accented by black bumpers and its consistent body panel alignment from end to end, this 1947 Dodge Pickup looks as if it catapulted from a '40s movie straight to the present. This is a great-looking vintage pickup and, while you can see evidence that it has continued to perform its duties after a previous restoration, those signs actually serve as testimony to its rock-solid running condition. All appearances indicate that this was once a top-tier show truck and, should you decide to return it to its former glory, it won't be a difficult process, as this post-war workhorse remains reassuringly capable in all respects, nearly 80 years after it first began its service.

Glance inside and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The interior of this classic truck is a definite high point. The red vinyl surface of the bench seat still looks fresh, the door panels still fit snugly and show no obvious wear, and the windows still raise and lower as easily as they did when this truck first rolled off the assembly. There really aren't any glaring flaws to detract from the overall condition of the cockpit. Even the factory gauges, still in place behind the stock steering wheel, look great, with their crisp white lettering and clear lenses. The dash area retains its authentically vintage appearance, and as you open the glove box door, you'll find a Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette stereo concealed inside that's been cleanly installed and still works as intended.

The theme of factory-correctness continues beneath the hood, where you'll find a period-correct 217-cubic-inch inline 6-cylinder flathead engine standing by in a very clean compartment that's still as orderly as it was from the start. The engine gained a well-deserved reputation for reliability upon its release, and, true to form, it's still running strong, firing up, idling smoothly, and accelerating without issue as it pairs with a 3-speed manual transmission. The steering on this vintage Dodge is also surprisingly precise, with less play in the steering wheel than you'd likely expect, and it tracks nice and straight, even after all these years.
