This 1986 Toyota Land cruiser was purchased new at Michael’s Toyota in Bellevue, WA in December of 1986. The truck was equipped the 6-cylinder gas motor/ 4-speed manual gearbox with optional air conditioning and finished in Dark Blue Metallic over Grey interior. The truck has remained with the same family since new. For many years it was used as a daily commuter between Kirkland and Seattle until the original owner retired and commissioned a new life for the Land cruiser. Only Toyota parts were chosen for the mechanicals as this FJ60 was essentially a family member so it would be treated to only the best!
In 2009 at around 160k miles, the truck was sent to Man-A-Fre, a Toyota Land Cruiser specialist in Simi Valley, CA for a complete overhaul and custom build. The company was so proud of this build that it was featured on their website for many years. A rebuilt 12HT 4.0L 6-cylinder Turbo Diesel was fitted with a new H55 5-Speed manual transmission. The transfer case was rebuilt and a new clutch was fitted. The AC system was converted to R134 with all new components. ARB air lockers were added and the front knuckles were rebuilt. The braking system was also rebuilt with stainless lines added and an on board rear air compressor port will allow for airing tires with a fitting kit. A long range 38-gallon fuel tank was also installed and all fuel hoses replaced. The suspension was also upgraded with a 4-inch Old Man Emu lift kit. The electrical system was improved with a dual battery conversion and 80Amp alternator. Hella H4 headlamps were fitted with all new side lamps and tail lamps. The cooling system was upgraded with a aluminum radiator. There is a cool Safari Snorkel mounted to the passenger side and a Hella Supertone horn kit was also fitted. On the exterior, heavy duty bumpers were fitted front and rear with a Warn 9.5XP winch and Hella Rallye 4000 driving lamps on the front bumper. The rear gate has a tire carrier with jerry can holder and hi-lift jack. Up top there is a deluxe ARB roof rack with mesh floor. New Australian spec wide angle side mirrors were installed and a new windshield and seal were fitted. Inside the FJ60 got a new OE full carpet kit, Tuffy locking center console, and Mastercraft Baja RS Recliner front seats w/ lumbar support. Recently the truck has had an all-new $15,000 stereo overhaul consisting of JL Audio speakers with very cool custom lower door trim surrounds, carpeted rear twin 10-inch sub-woofer box, amps, and a new Pioneer touch-screen stereo system with Bluetooth, Sat radio, and mirror phone imaging sits on the dash. Newer JDM pewter finished alloys with machine turned lips are wrapped in 33”BF Goodrich K02s. The body is in excellent condition with no rust and the undercarriage is in great shape as well. The interior shows very nicely with no cracks to the dash top and the door panels, headliner, upholstery all look very good. The hood and front nose section was recently refinished to correct some rock chips and the undercarriage was cleaned and painted black to freshen up the look. According to the family this truck was their father’s pride and joy and was never taken off road and never saw any mud!
Over the years since its restoration the Toyota has been well serviced and further restored/modified as desired along the way. The truck drives absolutely fantastic and is ready to reward its next owner with rugged off-road capabilities and iconic looks. This FJ60 comes with its original owner’s manual, window sticker, extensive restoration receipts, service manuals, clean CarFax report, and a clear Washington State title.
