1993 Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80

SOLD $54,980  |  CAR CAVE USA  |  AIKEN, SC

The Toyota Land Cruiser is an amazing vehicle, regardless of its provenance. But a well-kept Land Cruiser with a story is a truly extraordinary thing. That’s one of the many reasons why we love this 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80 being offered by Car Cave USA in Aiken, South Carolina for $54,980. It started its life in Haan, Germany, and then spent some time in the Swiss Alps, but will it live the rest of its life in your garage?

The Model.

According to the seller, this TLC was imported to the United States from a town in France located between Geneva, Switzerland and Mont Blanc in the Swiss Alps. Prior to its stint in France, the rig spent time in Haan, Germany where it was originally sold to its first owner by Toyota Auto-Nobel.

Engineered for durability and toughness, this HDJ80 was relatively no frills. It actually doesn’t even have leather, instead sporting a two-tone grey and black cloth interior. But who needs frills when you’ve got the 1HD-T engine under the bonnet? This legend not only sounds incredible as you’ll hear in the video below, but it’s bulletproof. It only produced a modest 165 horsepower and 267.9 ft lb of torque, but it did so at a surprisingly low 3,600 and 2,300 RPM respectively. It has plenty of power. Don’t believe us? The 1HD-T famously also powers A BUS. It’s true, the 1HD-T also powered the 3rd generation Toyota Coaster, a 17-passenger single decker minibus. The fact that it powers a mass transit vehicle should also be a testament to its durability, too.

This TLC is just so, so nice. Learn more about it courtesy of the folks at Car Care USA in the video below:

The Specs.

This TLC is in exceptional shape for having nearly two decades of service and 162,915 miles under its belt. Not only has it been well cared for, but the previous owners have kept exceptional service and parts records, which are provided in the Car Cave USA listing. In addition, it has been lightly and tastefully modified with an eye for making the rig a more capable overlander, including a number of suspension upgrades and a Long Range America auxiliary fuel tank adding 42 gallons on top of the 25.1 gallon factory fuel tank, giving the truck an approximate range of more than 1,300 (!!!) miles.
