The 79 series double cab was created as a larger Truck for the Japanese/European market. Powered by the 4.2 liter inline 6 diesel and manual transmission everything is built to last. Manual locking hubs and multispeed transfer case is strong due to its simplicity. There is a reason why emergency services immediately fell in love with these simple vehicles.
These first Firetrucks are early adopters to the chassis, using them before many other departments. The firefighting trucks had a raised second row and bubble top. This was the only way to purchase the 79 series for the first 12 years of production from Toyota.
This 79 series double cab (along with our other three Land cruiser trucks) are earmarked for major customization. Turning this firetruck into the ultimate forbidden fruit for the 4x4 enthusiasts.
