The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a full-size 4WD vehicle in the Land Cruiser range. One of the smaller vehicles in the Land Cruiser range, the Prado was never sold in the United States, although if you’ve been in a Lexus GX, you’ve been in a luxurious Prado with a Lexus badge and branding.
The Prado KZJ95 is part of the 2nd generation of Prados. It got its start in May of 1996, when the J70 series underwent a makeover and emerged as the J90 series Prado. The J90 was produced in Toyota’s Tahara Plant, available as a three-door short wheelbase and five-door long wheelbase version. Its body was lengthened although the design remained medium duty, like its predecessor. In addition, its front suspension was replaced with an independent design that was also shared with Tacoma and Hilux Surf.
