Key Attributes of this GX460:
- Rust-Free Frame: Originating in Texas, then Washington, and three years in Vermont, this GX460 boasts a rust-free frame, ideal for overlanding builds.
- Modification-Ready: As a base model, it’s a clean slate for aftermarket components like suspension lifts, bumpers, and roof racks, with extensive aftermarket support.
Known Issues:
The original radiator was replaced with a newer generation, correcting a known valve issue. The vehicle has been in three accidents: two under the first owner, and the most recent was a bumper replacement after a minor fender bender with no frame damage. The passenger lower control arm could be replaced; alignment is at the limit, but passes inspection.
Updates Completed:
Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control ECUs added. Tires upgraded from 265/60R18 to 275/70R17 Cooper Discoverer AT3LT Class E4 on Method 704-HD wheels with Bead Grip technology. A full-sized spare fits in the wheel well due to a sway bar spacer.
Vehicle History:
- Texas Origin: The vehicle commenced its service in the dry climate of Texas.
- Washington State (I bought it): It was used to tote kids and tow a travel trailer around the PNW for a few years.
- Vermont (moved and still own it): Used primarily as a daily driver in Vermont for three years, this vehicle boasts a well-preserved frame due to meticulous care, minimal road salt exposure, and consistent undercoating.
